  • How Ozone Therapy Works for Degenerative Diseases, Inflammation and Autoimmune Disorders

What is Ozone Therapy? Ozone therapy is an innovative treatment that utilizes ozone gas (O₃), a powerful form of oxygen, to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It is gaining recognition for its effectiveness in addressing a range of degenerative diseases, inflammatory conditions, and autoimmune disorders. How Ozone Therapy Works Ozone therapy is employed to treat various conditions, including: Bacterial and viral infections Chronic fatigue syndrome Digestive disorders Heart disease and arteriosclerosis Allergies Autoimmune disorders Cancer Fibromyalgia Chemical poisoning Arthritis Candida and other fungal infections Age-related macular degeneration MRSA Lyme disease Ozone therapy functions by stimulating the immune system, enhancing the body’s ability to combat infections, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. It also helps eliminate toxins, contributing to improved overall health. The Mechanism Behind Ozone Therapy As a biological response modifier, ozone therapy activates the body’s innate healing mechanisms. According to the International Scientific Committee of Ozone Therapy, ozone therapy has been shown to: Increase oxygen efficiency Balance the immune system Improve blood circulation Reduce inflammation and pain Enhance energy levels and overall sense of well-being Dr. Velio Bocci, a prominent researcher in ozone therapy, highlights its therapeutic potential:  “We have good reasons to believe that the therapeutic power of ozone therapy consists of simultaneously improving circulation and oxygen delivery, enhancing the release of autacoids, growth factors, and cytokines, and reducing endogenous, chronic oxidative stress.” Understanding Ozone (O₃) Ozone, or activated oxygen, consists of three oxygen atoms (O₃), in contrast to regular oxygen (O₂), which has two atoms. While O₂ is vital for life, O₃ should never be inhaled in its gas form due to safety concerns. However, ozone can be administered therapeutically through various methods, including: Injections Ear, rectal, and vaginal insufflation Ozonated water and oils These techniques optimize how your cells utilize oxygen, enhancing the overall effectiveness of ozone therapy. Benefits of Ozone Therapy Ozone therapy offers numerous health benefits, including: Enhanced immune response Reduced inflammation and pain Improved energy levels Better oxygenation of tissue Detoxification of the body As a treatment option, ozone therapy can be particularly beneficial for individuals who have not responded well to traditional medical approaches. • Unlocking the Path to Wellness: A Comprehensive Guide to Parkinson’s Disease Management

Parkinson’s disease is a multifaceted neurodegenerative disorder impacting millions globally. According to the Parkinson's Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately one million people in the United States are currently living with Parkinson's disease, with about 60,000 new diagnoses each year. This chronic condition is marked by the progressive loss of dopamine-producing neurons, leading to a spectrum of motor and non-motor symptoms that can significantly affect an individual’s quality of life. Understanding Parkinson’s Disease: Symptoms and Diagnosis Parkinson’s disease is characterized by a combination of motor and non-motor symptoms.  Motor Symptoms: These include tremors, slowness of movement, muscle rigidity, and postural instability, which hinder coordination, balance, and mobility, making daily activities increasingly challenging. Non-Motor Symptoms: Individuals may also experience cognitive decline, mood disorders, sleep disturbances, and issues with autonomic functions. These symptoms can manifest as slowness of thought, anxiety, depression, and autonomic dysfunction, such as orthostatic hypotension and constipation. Diagnosing Parkinson’s disease typically involves a thorough evaluation by a neurologist or movement disorder specialist. The process includes a detailed medical history, physical examination, neurological testing, and, when necessary, imaging studies. While there is no singular definitive test, diagnosis hinges on recognizing characteristic symptoms, assessing responses to dopaminergic medication, and ruling out other conditions that may mimic Parkinson’s disease. Causes of Parkinson’s Disease While the exact cause remains elusive, several factors may contribute to the development of Parkinson’s disease: Genetic Factors: Approximately 10% of diagnosed individuals have a genetic predisposition, particularly in populations with inbreeding. Environmental Toxins: Exposure to pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals can trigger or exacerbate the condition. Oxidative Stress and Chronic Inflammation: These factors can lead to neuronal damage. Impaired Mitochondrial Function: Dysfunction in energy production can accelerate disease progression. Gut Dysbiosis: An imbalance in gut bacteria may influence neurological health. Excess Stress: Chronic stress can worsen symptoms, leading to a cycle of insomnia, anxiety, and depression. Allopathic Treatment Options for Parkinson’s Disease Conventional treatment primarily aims to alleviate symptoms and enhance the quality of life. Key treatments include: Medications: Such as Levodopa, Dopamine agonists, MAO-B inhibitors, and Anticholinergics. Deep Brain Stimulation: An innovative approach using implanted neurostimulators to address motor symptoms. Embracing Holistic Approaches for Parkinson’s Disease Management Alongside conventional treatments, many individuals benefit from holistic approaches designed to foster overall well-being and address underlying imbalances. Nutrition and Dietary Therapy:  Emphasizing a balanced diet is crucial. Avoid refined sugars, alcohol, caffeine, and processed foods. Instead, focus on low glycemic fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Incorporating dietary supplements like Coenzyme Q10, Omega-3 fatty acids, and Curcumin can provide essential nutrients to support brain health. Holistic Modalities:  Therapies such as Oxygen Therapy, Acupuncture, and Massage Therapy can alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. Exercise and Movement Therapies:  Regular exercise is vital for maintaining mobility and flexibility. Practices like tai chi, yoga, and dance therapy can enhance balance and motor function while promoting relaxation. Stress and Sleep Management:  Utilizing aromatherapy with essential oils like Lavender and Peppermint can help reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. Natural sunlight exposure can also help regulate dopamine levels, enhancing mood and motivation. • How Hyperthermia is Used to Help Patients Cancer

Hyperthermia (also called thermal therapy or thermotherapy) is a type of cancer treatment in which body tissue is exposed to high temperatures (up to 113°F). Research has shown that high temperatures can damage and kill cancer cells, usually with minimal injury to normal tissues. By killing cancer cells and damaging proteins and structures within cells, hyperthermia may shrink tumors. Hyperthermia is under study in clinical trials (research studies with people) and is not widely available. How is hyperthermia used to treat cancer? Hyperthermia is almost always used with other forms of cancer therapy, such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Hyperthermia may make some cancer cells more sensitive to radiation or harm other cancer cells that radiation cannot damage. When hyperthermia and radiation therapy are combined, they are often given within an hour of each other. Hyperthermia can also enhance the effects of certain anticancer drugs. Numerous clinical trials have studied hyperthermia in combination with radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy. These studies have focused on the treatment of many types of cancer, including sarcoma, melanoma, and cancers of the head and neck, brain, lung, esophagus, breast, bladder, rectum, liver, appendix, cervix, and peritoneal lining (mesothelioma). Many of these studies, but not all, have shown a significant reduction in tumor size when hyperthermia is combined with other treatments. However, not all of these studies have shown increased survival in patients receiving the combined treatments. What are the different methods of hyperthermia? Several methods of hyperthermia are currently under study, including local, regional, and whole-body hyperthermia. In local hyperthermia, heat is applied to a small area, such as a tumor, using various techniques that deliver energy to heat the tumor. Different types of energy may be used to apply heat, including microwave, radiofrequency, and ultrasound. Depending on the tumor location, there are several approaches to local hyperthermia: External approaches are used to treat tumors that are in or just below the skin. External applicators are positioned around or near the appropriate region, and energy is focused on the tumor to raise its temperature. Intraluminal or endocavitary methods may be used to treat tumors within or near body cavities, such as the esophagus or rectum. Probes are placed inside the cavity and inserted into the tumor to deliver energy and heat the area directly. Interstitial techniques are used to treat tumors deep within the body, such as brain tumors. This technique allows the tumor to be heated to higher temperatures than external techniques. Under anesthesia, probes or needles are inserted into the tumor. Imaging techniques, such as ultrasound, may be used to make sure the probe is properly positioned within the tumor. The heat source is then inserted into the probe. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a type of interstitial hyperthermia that uses radio waves to heat and kill cancer cells. In regional hyperthermia, various approaches may be used to heat large areas of tissue, such as a body cavity, organ, or limb. Deep tissue approaches may be used to treat cancers within the body, such as cervical or bladder cancer. External applicators are positioned around the body cavity or organ to be treated, and microwave or radiofrequency energy is focused on the area to raise its temperature. Regional perfusion techniques can be used to treat cancers in the arms and legs, such as melanoma, or cancer in some organs, such as the liver or lung. In this procedure, some of the patient’s blood is removed, heated, and then pumped (perfused) back into the limb or organ. Anticancer drugs are commonly given during this treatment. Continuous hyperthermic peritoneal perfusion (CHPP) is a technique used to treat cancers within the peritoneal cavity (the space within the abdomen that contains the intestines, stomach, and liver), including primary peritoneal mesothelioma and stomach cancer. During surgery, heated anticancer drugs flow from a warming device through the peritoneal cavity. The peritoneal cavity temperature reaches 106-108°F. Whole-body hyperthermia is used to treat metastatic cancer that has spread throughout the body. This can be accomplished by several techniques that raise the body temperature to 107-108°F, including the use of thermal chambers (similar to large incubators) or hot water blankets. The effectiveness of hyperthermia treatment is related to the temperature achieved during the treatment, as well as the length of treatment and cell and tissue characteristics. To ensure that the desired temperature is reached, but not exceeded, the temperature of the tumor and surrounding tissue is monitored throughout hyperthermia treatment. Using local anesthesia, the doctor inserts small needles or tubes with tiny thermometers into the treatment area to monitor the temperature. Imaging techniques, such as CT (computed tomography), may be used to make sure the probes are properly positioned. Does hyperthermia have any complications or side effects? Most normal tissues are not damaged during hyperthermia if the temperature remains under 111°F. However, due to regional differences in tissue characteristics, higher temperatures may occur in various spots. This can result in burns, blisters, discomfort, or pain. Perfusion techniques can cause tissue swelling, blood clots, bleeding, and other damage to the normal tissues in the perfused area; however, most of these side effects are temporary. Whole-body hyperthermia can cause more serious side effects, including cardiac and vascular disorders, but these effects are uncommon. Diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting are commonly observed after whole-body hyperthermia. What does the future hold for hyperthermia? A number of challenges must be overcome before hyperthermia can be considered a standard treatment for cancer. Many clinical trials are being conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of hyperthermia. Some trials continue to research hyperthermia in combination with other therapies for the treatment of different cancers. Other studies focus on improving hyperthermia techniques such as the following: van der Zee J. Heating the patient: a promising approach? Annals of Oncology 2002; 13(8):1173–1184. • Holistic Approaches & Colon Cancer: What You Need to Know

In our practice we use Natural, Holistic treatments. Colorectal cancer, cancer of the colon and rectum, is the second leading cause of cancer mortality in America. It usually develops from small, noncancerous growths called polyps that form on the inner walls of the colon. Over time, some of these polyps can become cancerous and spread to other parts of the body. If it has not spread beyond the colon or rectum and is caught early, the five-year survival rate is about 90%. However, if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, the survival rate drops significantly. Signs and Symptoms The most common symptoms of colorectal cancer include: Abdominal pain, Changes in bowel movements, Blood in the stool Problems related to blood loss (anemia, weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath, pounding or racing heart, chest pain, and intolerance to exercise) Abdominal discomfort (frequent gas, bloating, fullness, cramps, and pain) Unexplained weight lossPain with bowel movementFeeling that your bowel does not empty completely Fatigue It is important to talk to a healthcare provider if any of these symptoms are experienced. Source: stlukes-stl.com Risk Factors for Developing Colorectal Cancer Include: Age (being over 50) Having colorectal cancer previously Having a history of adenomatous polyps Family history of colorectal cancer Eating a high-fat diet Prolonged consumption of red and processed meat Smoking Being overweight Heavy use of alcohol Having inflammatory bowel disease (such as Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis) Having diabetes Physical inactivity Previous endometrial or ovarian cancer Women undergoing radiation for gynecologic cancer Source: stlukes-stl.com Diagnosis Diagnosis is based on: Complete medical history, Physical exam, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Biopsy. During a sigmoidoscopy or a colonoscopy, your doctor removes a sample of tissue (called a biopsy) from the colon or rectum and examines it under a microscope to detect abnormal growths. If cancer is evident, your doctor will perform a series of tests (chest x-ray, abdominal CT scan, and blood tests to check liver function.) Source: stlukes-stl.com Stages of Colorectal Cancer Include: Stage 0: The earliest stage; cancer is found only in the innermost lining of the colon and/or rectum. Stage 1: Cancer has grown through the innermost lining but hasn't spread beyond the colon wall or rectum. Stage 2: Cancer has spread to deeper layers of the wall of the colon or rectum, but not the lymph nodes. Stage 3: Cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes but not to other parts of the body. Stage 4: Cancer has spread to other parts of the body, such as the liver and lungs. Source: stlukes-stl.com Prevention: Screening - Stool DNA testing, Colonoscopy ( every 10 years, for those with family history of colon cancer every 3 to 5 years, starting at least 10 years before the age of the relative at the time of his or her diagnosis.) Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, as well as foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (such as salmon and halibut), folate (such as whole grains and leafy green vegetables), and calcium (such as sea vegetables and kale), can help reduce the risk of colorectal cancer. Limiting alcohol consumption, quitting smoking, and reducing the intake of high-fat and fried foods, particularly red meats. Maintaining a proper weight and exercising regularly at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days. Source: stlukes-stl.com Allopathic Treatment for Colon Cancer: The choice of treatment for colorectal cancer depends on the stage of the cancer, as well as the patient's overall health and preference. Here are some common treatments for colorectal cancer: Surgery: Surgery is the most common treatment for colorectal cancer. The goal is to remove as much of the cancerous tissue as possible. For early-stage colon or rectal cancer, the surgeon may be able to remove the cancer entirely or perform a minimally invasive surgery. For advanced colorectal cancer, more extensive surgery may be needed to remove a portion of the colon or rectum. Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy uses drugs to kill cancer cells. It is typically used for advanced-stage colorectal cancer, either alone or in combination with other treatments. Radiation therapy: Radiation therapy uses high-energy rays to kill cancer cells. It is typically used for rectal cancer to shrink the tumor prior to surgery or to treat cancer that has spread beyond the colon or rectum. Targeted therapy: Targeted therapy uses drugs that target specific proteins on cancer cells, making them more vulnerable to chemotherapy. These drugs can be used alone or in combination with other treatments. Immunotherapy: Immunotherapy works by stimulating the immune system to fight cancer cells. This type of therapy is still in its early stages for colorectal cancer but shows promising results. It is important to talk with your doctor about the best treatment options for your specific type and stage of colorectal cancer. Source: stlukes-stl.com Alternative Treatments That Can Be Effective Against Colon Cancer: Acupuncture : Acupuncture has been used as a complementary therapy to relieve the symptoms of colon cancer and side effects of treatment. Herbal supplements : There are various herbal supplements we use that are believed to help reduce the growth of colon cancer cells. Exercise : Regular exercise helps in keeping the body healthy and promotes the immune system of the patient, thereby helping to reduce the risk of colon cancer. Stress reduction through : Meditation: This technique helps in calming the mind and relieving stress, which can improve the overall health and help ease the symptoms of colon cancer. Mind-body therapies: Mind-body techniques like hypnosis, visualization, and guided imagery can help patients in dealing with pain, anxiety and depression associated with colon cancer. Rectal ozone therapy: Ozone therapy has become a popular alternative treatment for various health conditions. Here are some of the reported benefits of ozone therapy: Boosts the immune system: Ozone is believed to stimulate white blood cells and improve overall immune function. Reduces pain and inflammation: Ozone injections may help reduce pain and swelling in acute and chronic injuries. Promotes tissue healing: Ozone promotes blood flow and oxygenation, which can potentially speed up healing and recovery. Treats infections: Ozone gas has antimicrobial properties that can sterilize and kill pathogens, making it useful for treating certain types of infections. Reduces stress: Some proponents suggest that ozone therapy can help reduce stress and increase energy levels. PEMF Therapy PEMFs might be capable of inhibiting cancer growth by disrupting the mitotic spindle during cell division. Through this mechanism, PEMFs impair the orientation of spindle tubulin and induce dielectrophoresis. Hyperthermia Hyperthermia applied as radiosensitizer or chemosensitizer has shown great results in over four decades and is presently successfully applied in combination with radiotherapy or chemotherapy for treatment of many tumor types Peptide Therapy Peptide can be utilized directly as a cytotoxic agent through various mechanisms or can act as a carrier of cytotoxic agents and radioisotopes by specifically targeting cancer cells. Peptide-based hormonal therapy has been extensively studied and utilized for the treatment of breast and colon cancers. Hydrogen Inhalation Therapy Studies have shown that hydrogen gas can induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells. This effect has been observed in various types of cancer, including breast, lung, colon, and colon cancers. Additionally, hydrogen has been found to inhibit tumor growth and metastasis in animal models. One possible explanation for the anti-cancer effects of hydrogen is its ability to activate the immune system. Hydrogen has been shown to increase the activity of natural killer (NK) cells, which play a critical role in detecting and killing cancer cells. It may also enhance the function of dendritic cells, which are responsible for initiating an immune response against cancer. Another possible mechanism is the ability of hydrogen to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. These processes play a key role in the development and progression of cancer. By neutralizing free radicals and reducing inflammation, hydrogen may create a less hospitable environment for cancer cells to thrive. In addition, some studies suggest that hydrogen may protect healthy tissues from damage caused by cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy. This is particularly important as these treatments can often cause serious side effects and damage to healthy tissues. While more research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms underlying the anti-cancer effects of hydrogen, the evidence so far suggests that it may be a promising therapeutic option for cancer patients. Lymphatic Drainage Therapy The goal of Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is to stimulate the lymphatic system and promote the drainage of excess lymph fluid. This is accomplished through gentle techniques that help to move the lymphatic fluid away from the affected area and toward healthy lymph nodes where it can be processed and eliminated from the body. In addition to managing lymphedema, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy can also help to alleviate pain, reduce swelling, and improve overall range of motion. It may also help to boost the immune system and promote healing. It is important to note that Lymphatic Drainage Therapy should only be performed by a trained therapist who specializes in cancer treatment related lymphedema management. Patients should also consult with their oncologist or healthcare provider before starting any new therapies or treatments. Overall, Lymphatic Drainage Therapy can be a valuable tool in managing cancer treatment related lymphedema and improving quality of life for those affected. BioResonance Bioresonance therapy can help increase the patient’s immune system and assist with reducing the patient’s stress levels during the cancer treatment process. The therapy aims to improve the patient’s overall well-being, which in turn may aid in the successful elimination of cancer cells from their body. In conclusion, while Bioresonance therapy cannot directly cure cancer, it has proven to be effective in assisting with the prevention and treatment of cancer. The technology works to eliminate harmful substances from the body, promote healing, and aid in the management of side-effects caused by traditional cancer treatment options. • Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a type of treatment that involves burning mugwort leaves. What is moxibustion? Moxibustion is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practiced in Asia for thousands of years, long before acupuncture. Moxibustion is a technique that involves burning a natural herb called moxa, commonly known as mugwort (Artemesia Vulgaris), on a patient's skin, either indirectly or directly, to stimulate the acupuncture meridians beneath. The patient will feel a pleasant heating sensation that penetrates deep into the body during moxibustion, restoring blood flow and the vital energy known as Qi. What does moxibustion treat? Moxibustion and acupuncture treatments combined can be very effective for a variety of diseases and conditions, including back pain, muscle stiffness, headaches, migraines, tendonitis, arthritis, digestive disorders, anxiety, and female health issues like menstrual cramps, irregular periods, and infertility. We will examine your condition and needs, as with all of our services, and build an individualized care and treatment plan to help you get the best possible results. • AMMA Therapy®

AMMA Therapy® focuses on the flow and balance of vital energy known as Qi or Chi within the human body. In as much as a practitioner of acupuncture uses needles into meridians or energy pathways to stimulate and move Qi, the herbalist, on the other hand, makes use of herbal preparations to elicit the same effects. The Amma Therapist® mainly relies on the strength and the sensitivity of his/her hands, to control the flow and balance Qi. Trained and skilled in associated modes of healing such as the proper selection, combining and application of herbal formulas, moxibustion (the burning of moxa herb over a pressure point), acupuncture, skeletal manipulation, meditation, and nutritional therapy, the Amma Therapist® deals with problems related to the movement and balance of energy in the meridians, also known as channels. These channels form an energetic network all over the body. They provide nutrition to the body and defend it as well. These channels are also where harmful energies can enter into the deeper parts of the body. Good health depends on the free and harmonized flow of Qi via the meridians and so it is important to maintain this free and balanced movement at all times. All the methods of the most important kinds of therapeutic massage are used in AMMA Therapy®. The point manipulation and deep pressure techniques used in shiatsu massage are also adopted in AMMA Therapy® to help produce the desired results of muscle tightness relaxation and Qi movement. AMMA Therapy® also borrows methods from a common therapy known as foot reflexology in which foot reflex pressure points are activated during treatment. When these points are stimulated, it leads to profound effects on the body’s deep tissues and organs. Techniques used in rolfing including the manipulation of connective tissue and deep fascia techniques, are also utilized by Advanced AMMA Therapists®, as well as Swedish or European massage techniques of muscle stretching and pushing. Skeletal manipulation techniques, which are used in chiropractic medicine is also a skill that a Master AMMA Therapist® is well trained in. We can thus see that AMMA Therapy® is not just all about a specific technique; it is actually an exhaustive healing art with a stated purpose and principle and a complex and refined mode of practice. This therapy considers multidirectional points of view and taps into these various systems to resolve all problems. To evaluate organ dysfunction , AMMA Therapy® utilizes a type of assessment that integrates the knowledge and techniques used in Western and Eastern medicine. This therapy combines traditional Chinese medicine and other traditional Asian medical principles and a Western approach to observe energy imbalances and resolve them. AMMA Therapy® adopts a TCM diagnosis known as the Four Traditional Methods: observing, questioning, smelling, and palpating. This diagnosis also involves the evaluation of every facet of the body-mind complex, the taking of various pulses, assessment of the tongue; regulation of diet; palpation; posture, complexion, bowel movements, vitality, emotions, sounds, personal likes and dislikes, tastes, and smells. The body’s internal state of health can be known by every manifested signs and symptoms. T his information also determines the psychological state of the patient and the prognosis of the imbalance or sickness. Certain parts of the body can be considered as a microcosm of the entire body, telling us a great deal about the entire body. Once an integrated evaluation and a diagnosis of organ malfunctions and energy imbalances is made, the Amma therapist can then begin treatment by skillfully using his/her fingers and hands to eliminate obstructions, allow energy to flow freely, and move that energy to the affected parts of the body. Tens of thousands of years ago, primitive man rubbed his body as a natural way of relieving pain. Some believe that AMMA first evolved from early trials with rubbing that entailed the pulling and pushing of muscles in the body. However, the highly sophisticated techniques of AMMA make this theory untenable. This theory is based on evolution. However, some people believe that Amma as well as several other Oriental healing practices, is actually a devolution of some kind. The Chinese and Japanese forms Amma(AnMa/AnMo) seem to be a devolution from the original in which only the basic massage techniques are used, whereas the potency and subtlety of Amma that was mentioned in ancient documents seem to have disappeared. Traditional Asian medicine starting with the mapping of the energy patterns thousands of years ago, was a bit more profound then as our ancestors were more finely tuned to their subtle experiences compared to the people living in this postmodern age; our ancestors were more conscious of their bodies and could sense the Qi flowing in their bodily systems. Ancient Traditional Asian healers may have never been able to literally see the inside of a human body; yet, in spite of that, they were able to accurately map out acupuncture points and understood the specific physiological effects of those points on the body. They were able to design charts that intricately denoted the parts of the body where the channels can be found and their corresponding pressure points, much of which has bee confirmed by modern Western studies. The ancient documents of the “soft” or “inner” styles of the martial arts also reveal a subtlety, sensitivity, and awareness that is found in just a very few users of these healing and physical arts these days. It is extremely difficult to teach to others all types of arts particularly the ones that require kinesthetic awareness, great attention to detail, control, and extraordinary sensitivities. More often than not, it just leads to a degradation of the art, in which the more superficial and inferior forms of the original practices are imbibed by the student.

  • How Pain Neutralization Technique Can Help Eliminate Pain

Pain Neutralization Technique uses light pressure to eliminate chronic and acute pain through newly uncovered neurological reflexes. The technique was created by a Chiropractic Doctor in Colorado, Dr. Kaufman. For patients who are nervous about the use of acupuncture needles, or for children who may have had some difficult experiences with the medical profession, PNT provides an option that should be considered. How Does Pain Neutralization Technique (PNT) It Work? All muscles in the body have opposing muscles (Flexion and Extension). When one muscle contracts its opposing muscle must relax to facilitate this contraction e.g. triceps (back of the upper arm) contracts when raising a dumbbell above the head and at the same time the biceps relax. Through a built-in reflex mechanism when one muscle contracts your nervous system automatically sends a signal to the opposing muscle (the bicep muscle in this case) initiating a relaxation of that muscle. When you are in pain or have trigger points, the muscles are in a state of contraction and unable to relax. With the P.N.T. technique we cause a trigger point to relax by stimulating the tendon of an opposing muscle while at the same time applying light pressure to the painful area. Once we find the correct reflex for a trigger point, within seconds, the point will no longer be painful when pressed. Often the patient’s symptoms associated with that trigger point will clear up as well. Sometimes symptoms improve immediately often they resolve over several treatments. • How Homeopathy Can Help Your Healing

What is Homeopathy? Homeopathy is a therapeutic method that uses diluted substances to relieve symptoms. The active ingredients in homeopathic medicines include diluted plants, animals, or minerals that relieve the same symptoms they cause at full strength (i.e., a micro dose of coffee bean helps to relieve nervousness). Homeopathic medicines have been used for more than 200 years. They are manufactured in strict accordance with the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS) and drug Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Today, homeopathic medicines are used by millions of patients and recommended by healthcare professionals around the world to relieve many acute health conditions such as allergies, coughs, colds, flu, stress, muscle pain, and teething. Principles of Homeopathy Homeopathy derives from the Greek words homeo, meaning “similar,” and pathos, meaning “suffering” (such as the pathology of a disease). Homeopathy operates on a “like cures like” principle that has been used empirically for more than 200 years and is now confirmed by an increasing number of research publications. Translated, this means that a patient suffering from symptoms can be treated by micro-doses of a substance capable of producing similar symptoms in a healthy person. Homeopathic medicines stimulate the body’s physiological reactions that restore health, with a very low risk of side effects due to the use of micro-doses. Is there any scientific research on homeopathy? An increasing number of scientific studies on homeopathic medicines are being conducted and published in peer-review journals. Clinical research is providing evidence of the efficacy of homeopathic medicines, and basic laboratory research confirms the biological activity of highly diluted substances and helps the scientific community better understand their mechanism of action. Do homeopathic medicines have any side effects? Homeopathic medicines above 4C have a low risk of side effects and no contraindications. They can be safely taken with other conventional medications and are sometimes recommended to complement other treatments. Do homeopathic medicines interact with other medications? Homeopathic medicines above 4C have a low risk of side effects and no contraindications. They can be safely taken with other conventional medications and are sometimes recommended to complement other treatments. Can I use a homeopathic medicine past its expiration date? No, we do not recommend taking a Boiron medicine past its expiration date. Can I overdose on a homeopathic medicine? Given the small amounts of highly diluted active ingredients, you will not suffer a drug overdose from ingesting an amount of homeopathic medicine larger than the recommended dosage. In dilutions above 4C or 8X, the toxic properties of the original substance have disappeared; the medicine is safe and sold over the counter (OTC). How are homeopathic medicines presented? Homeopathic medicines are presented with very clear and specific indications and directions for use. They are available either as single medicines (only one active ingredient) or as branded medicines (most with multiple active ingredients). The branded medicines are available in a variety of dosage forms, such as tablets, gels, ointments, creams, syrups, eye drops, and suppositories. If you are not yet familiar with homeopathic medicines, the branded products make selecting a medicine and treating symptoms very easy, so new users can discover their benefits. An example of how homeopathic medicines work is the similarity of symptoms between a bee sting and a rash. A bee sting swells and itches. If similar symptoms appear from perhaps hives, a rash, or even another insect bite, the homeopathic medicine most appropriate to treat these symptoms is actually made from a tiny amount of a bee. Instead of masking symptoms, the medicine sends the body a signal to help it rebalance and heal. Benefits of Homeopathic Medicines Natural — The active ingredients in homeopathic medicines are diluted plants, animals, and minerals that relieve the same symptoms they cause at full strength (i.e., a micro-dose of coffee beans helps nervousness). Scope of Use — Similar to other over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, homeopathic medicines can be used to relieve symptoms of a wide range of acute health conditions such as allergies, coughs, colds, flu, stress, arthritis pain, muscle pain, and teething. Efficacy — Homeopathy has been used for more than 200 years, building a remarkable safety record and generating a great body of knowledge. Quality-controlled — Homeopathic medicines are manufactured according to the highest standards, complying with specifications of the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS) and Drug Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Safe — Homeopathic medicines are one of the safest choices for self-treatment. – No known side effects such as drowsiness – No interactions with conventional medications or herbal remedies – No contraindications with pre-existing conditions – No masking of symptoms Forms — Like other OTCs, homeopathic medicines are available in a variety of dosage forms, such as gels, ointments, creams, syrups, eye drops, and suppositories. Lack of exercise. Obese men may be at a greater risk of developing aggressive prostate cancer, and the cancer may be more difficult to treat. Smoking. Smokers may have an increased risk of dying from prostate cancer, as well as other cancers. Exposure to certain chemicals, such as cadmium, which is found in some batteries, and to pesticides. Having a sexually transmitted infection (STI), such as gonorrhea, may also increase the risk of developing prostate cancer. Source: stlukes-stl.com Diagnosis Screening tests can include a digital rectal exam (DRE) and a blood test to check for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels. However, these tests are not always accurate and can give false-positive results, leading to unnecessary biopsies, treatments, and their possible side effects. When these tests suggest that cancer may be present, a biopsy can confirm the diagnosis. Imaging tests such as MRI, CT, and bone scans can help determine the extent of the cancer and whether it has spread to other parts of the body. Source: stlukes-stl.com Allopathic Treatment Options Treatment options for prostate cancer vary depending on the stage and aggressiveness of the cancer. Active surveillance, where the cancer is monitored closely but not treated, may be an option for some men with slow-growing tumors. Other treatments include surgery to remove the prostate, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, and chemotherapy. Surgery: Removal of the prostate gland, which may be done with traditional open surgery or minimally invasive techniques such as robotic-assisted surgery. Radiation therapy: Using high-energy beams to kill cancer cells, which may be delivered externally or internally. Hormone therapy: Lowering levels of hormones such as testosterone, which can fuel the growth of prostate cancer cells. Chemotherapy: Using drugs to kill cancer cells, typically for advanced cancers that have spread to other parts of the body. Treatment side effects can include: • erectile dysfunction, • urinary incontinence, • bowel problems, • fatigue Source: stlukes-stl.com Prevention Although there is no guaranteed way to prevent prostate cancer, some steps that may lower the risk include: • Maintaining a healthy diet and weight • Exercising regularly • Not smoking • Reducing exposure to toxins such as cadmium Source: stlukes-stl.com Exercising is important to maintaining your health Natural, Holistic and Alternative Treatments That Can Be Effective Against Prostate Cancer: Acupuncture : Acupuncture has been used as a complementary therapy to relieve the symptoms of prostate cancer and side effects of treatment. Herbal supplements : There are various herbal supplements we use that are believed to help reduce the growth of prostate cancer cells. Exercise : Regular exercise helps in keeping the body healthy and promotes the immune system of the patient, thereby helping to reduce the risk of prostate cancer. Stress reduction through : Meditation: This technique helps in calming the mind and relieving stress, which can improve the overall health and help ease the symptoms of prostate cancer. Mind-body therapies: Mind-body techniques like hypnosis, visualization, and guided imagery can help patients in dealing with pain, anxiety and depression associated with prostate cancer. Hyperthermia Hyperthermia applied as radiosensitizer or chemosensitizer has shown great results in over four decades and is presently successfully applied in combination with radiotherapy or chemotherapy for treatment of many tumor types Peptide Therapy Peptide can be utilized directly as a cytotoxic agent through various mechanisms or can act as a carrier of cytotoxic agents and radioisotopes by specifically targeting cancer cells . Peptide-based hormonal therapy has been extensively studied and utilized for the treatment of breast and prostate cancers. Hydrogen Inhalation Therapy Studies have shown that hydrogen gas can induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells. This effect has been observed in various types of cancer, including breast, lung, colon, and prostate cancers.
